Why Work For SERVPRO of Piatt/Dewitt County

What is it like working for SERVPRO? This is a question I hear a lot when I am out and about on my routes. Let me tell you a well-kept secret, I absolutely love it! Is the pay fair you might ask - yes it is very fair. Is there room for advancement? Sky is the limit. Do they train and encourage growth with their employees? Again yes, the ownership would want it any other way. These are all great reasons to work for SERVPRO, but none are the reason that I personally love working here.
It all starts at the top with our owners, Dave and Suzi McGuire. They have been in the restoration business for 30 years. They started their franchise out of their garage and over time grew to be four franchises strong covering a vast majority of Central Illinois all the way into Indiana. They built this on dedication, hard work, and relationships. Not just relationships with their customers and insurance agents, but with their staff. And it shows. This is part of the culture here at SERVPRO of Piatt/Dewitt County. The entire ownership, office staff and management truly want to see you succeed and flourish.
Another reason I love this job is that you do not get in a rut like you can at many other jobs where it is the same old thing day in and day out. As a part of our SERVPRO team you may be drying a basement one day and meeting with a homeowner that suffered a house fire the very next. You might be cleaning irreplaceable family heirlooms from a fire or suit up in full PPE and fog a business for Covid and much much more. The bottom line is that the job can be very exciting, fresh and new every day! Even bigger than this though, is the knowledge that you are making a difference in someone else's life that may have been turned upside down. When you arrive at our SERVPRO office, a banner welcomes you that reads "HEROES WORK HERE." From my years with SERVPRO I will attest that this is true. Experiencing a home or business owner go from tears to a warm genuine smile is one of the greatest things to be a part of.
Lastly why I love working for SERVPRO is that they are not just in it to make a buck. Dave and Suzi care deeply for the community and are not only active themselves, but encourage all of us to be so as well. As a company we are involved in Christmas and homecoming parades, Chamber of Commerce’s throughout Central Illinois, MABAS meetings, One Winters Night which is spearheaded by Marketing Manager Butch Dalhaus raising money to shelter the homeless, Run For Life raising awareness and money for suicide prevention, Habitat for Humanity, Trunk or Treat and much much more! I would say a lot of businesses have great teams, but we here at SERVPRO have a great family. MM
